The adventures of Izebella and friends in Norrath
20 June 2009 @ 10:16 am

I've spent most of the week on and off working on Shingle. Having leveled last weekend I decided to spend some time on his tradeskill so I began the relatively new tradeskill quest line from The Shadow Odyssey Expansion Pack. It was very interesting doing that for the first time. I gained 99 % lol from doing it and finally finished on Tuesday night. It was mainly a questline of running around crafting for other people in TSO and fairly straightforward. The annoying part was the back and forth to the guild hall to craft as I needed more resources and materials. I soon resolved that by hitting /browser www.Eq2i.com lol. I think I will do it on Izebella next level too. Then on Wednesday because I was Semi AFKing a LOT (my turn to cook lol) I took Shingle and did a few quests in the easier part of TSO. kajen told me a long time ago TSO is really for groups and boy he wasn't wrong. At the end of the night I was only nineth death I decided to call it a night and watch some TV instead. I finished work on Thursday (for the holidays YAY) and briefly logged on to check my sales before I began the epic housework. Sadly I wasn't uber fast enough to get back on that night so I left it till Friday morning to log on. I took Shingle to Kunzar Jungle again and luckily this time it was a little easier. I think adept threes are apt for the solo mobs there and although I died 10 times over the course of the day it was better that I had done their before. In fact after handing some quests in at the end I realised I've nearly finished that zone now YAY! Last night was guild group night so I headed back to the Guild Hall to get ready for some grouping fun. We decided to do  Desert of Flames Raid zones due to the lowest level being in the sixties.  Ashenshugar (pally), Emaimee (warden), Glarim (coercer), Kajen (Swashbuckler) and Solinarii (swashbuckler), Woodyelf (monk), Chingus (zerk), Uffern (necromanacer), Saraya (Inquisitor) and me Necromancer. All first went to try Lockjaw's Lair and the AA experience was fantastic. That is where my Run of 5 AA points came in over the course of the night lol! He died quick and fairly easy after Kajen anounced the parse - everyone on it apart from me lol - Shingleshanks wasted!!! lol!

So we headed over to the Courts of Al'Afaz which is a great zone but I can see why people thought it was hard. Ashenshugar warned watch the gaps in the floor before we went in and what did I do! Typical Shingle lol! Sadly the raid came to a stop due to a bug and we couldn't move the raid along soooo in good old fashioned group style we stepped out into Pillars Of Flame and gave the most of the zone a quick slaughter - soooo much fun! I think we finished at just after 12.30 AM - I was nackered! But well worth it!

Today, I have family and friends popping in most of the day so I will be AFKing a lot again. It would be really nice though if I can get Shingle closer to the 100% mark. He's 79% atm ... will give it a try.

Sunday night saw us return to RE2 again to try to complete the zone ... we got so close. The tank and healer couldn't make it last night so Poxridden switched to his tank (palladin) and Emaimee - warden and Kajen - Swashy came along to help instead. We did do enormously well but the last epic ... well quite frankly was EPIC lol. Sadly I had to log at 10.30 so we gave up but hopefully we'll do better next time. Shingle leveled up to 76 in the zone although I have to admit to cheating with my potions! lol

Well last night was really great. We got on Voice Chat and headed to Runnyeye 2 - never been to this zone before and it was tremendously hard. I took Shingle ... who is usually uber for DPS but tonight he barely hit 20 more than three times. I really enjoyed the zone its the same layout as the original Runnyeye which we spent our "youth" in all the time -Carnarvon tanking and Kajen and Berais hitting lots of stuff and Heoko and me healing. Tonight was really great too Killians was tank, Gwyanne healing, Suzita, Glarim, Poxridden and me DPS. Sadly we didn't clear the whole zone as the mobs we're really hard but hopefully tomorow night or another time - one of the quest rewards was a goblin cauldron thing for the house and I definitely need that for Shingle's soon to be evil home!!

Sorry that I haven't been keeping you updated ... the last couple of weeks have been a little dull for me as when I've had the chance to log in I've been continuing the Harvesting signature quest  on Shingle and watching lots of Smallville to keep me going lol. Today I finally finished it YAY! a chore I didn't need but I realised that some of the quests in Fens couldn't be done without the harvesting skills maxed to at least 340 lol and I was ashamed to say Shingles was 15 to begin. Its done now thank god and now I hope to be able to spend a week or so working on him a little. After handing in and getting my lovely gorgeous fabulous cloak (lol) I headed back to the guild hall and put the spare resources in my boxes for Gwen to pick up later and store for me. Then I headed to Kylong Plains and spent a couple of hours finishing off quests there. Now I only have one quest and being that it is a 70 heroic I've decided to do it when I hit 80. After finishing off Kylong Plains I headed back to Fens and managed to complete a few more quests there but that flaming quest down a tunnel I had trouble with on Ize I couldn't do alone ... grrrr to the overseers. Its a simple enough quest just fustrating with the respawns of the overseers. I think I might grab a guildie at some point to go do it - should only take about 30 minutes of someones time. Anyway I left that and headed over to those gorgeous teddy bear looking things - which I had to kill for a quest :( - how guilty did I feel lol!! I managed to get another three quests finished in that region. I'm off to a guild evening tonight so I knew I had to take a break before that and logged off whilst I'm making a yummy baked potato in the oven....mmmmmm!!! I don't know exactly where we're going this evening but from what Suzita said it will be somewhere completely knew YAY! I've missed kicking some ass over the last few weeks so can't wait. Will let you know how it goes!!

I'm off on leave from this Thursday night, for a week, as its my BIRTHDAY YAY!!! so should have some time in the day to play and hopefully raise some levels too!

The adventures of Izebella and friends in Norrath

Haven't had time to post yet! Very sorry!

I spent most of the weekend working on Ize and managed to get her up to level 77 carpenter and adventure - yay!! Obviously the double xp weekend was a massive boost and a lot of help for her too! Whilst doing that I managed to stock up on my tier 8 harvesting resources - I noticed on returning to the game they had run down some and I don't like to use the guilds box all the time. Seems unfair on those with very little harvesting skills! I managed to grab a fair few over in Fens and lock them away in Gwenllyan's bank. I don't know what I will do when I eventually level her - she's like the spare bank for all my toons!! Talking about Gwenllyan I also noticed on returning to the game how low my shared food and drink box had got so I took a few hours out to stock it up a little - I've still got loads to do though! I managed to get her up another level. Such a chore are provisioners! You seem to get about 4 recipes per go and I tend to fill up my crate by about 50 % - I then spend the other 50 % doing writs because otherwise I would never level - nevermind she will catch up eventually. On bank holiday monday I really lacked time in playing (we went to a car show and then dropped off for a cream tea with mother in law and nan in law to be at the place we're planning on getting married) In the end I didn't get home until 8ish and although I logged on for a short time - some lag or something happened - I was kicked off and after trying to get in various times I gave up and rang my mum for a girlie chat instead!! I felt a bit gutted on Tuesday morning as I had planned to begin on Shingle but we received a phone call from Dave's dad saying his step mum's father had passed away in the night - so we spent most of the day around there. I managed to log on for the final hour of double XP though in between catching up on the housework and managed to do a littleon Shingle but not enough by any means for a nice ding for him. Afterwards I (not quite sure why) was looking at his persona window and noticed his harvesting levels were awful some in the tier 3's!! - I ran to the Isle of Mara and picked him up the Harvesting Signature quest - oh the joy of doing that one again!!!

On wednesday night I logged in and as usual checked my sales - another 7 PP arrived in my bank YAY!! and then I took Shingle over to Oakymyst Forest to begin the harvesting quest. I manged to get all the ding and decided whilst I was there I might as well keep gathering - I found a fair few tier one rares - although not great - still handy for my alts. Then real life invaded and I had to log again for the evening! What I have noticed about this game is - people sell rares for insane amounts but - the reality is you'll more than likely need them at some stage - when I have my harvesting sessions - I put all my rares in a seperate box and keep them - some have been there for years and I've never used them but I know the day I sell them - is the day I will need them again. Anyway thats my method!

Tonight I didn't have much chance to log on ... in fact I'm so exhausted I didn't have the energy - I briefly checked my sales a couple of times and had a quick chat with the guildies and that was all.

This weekend - I think I shall spend it harvesting - very boring but I definitely need to stock up across the board on my resources and rares and maybe just maybe I can get the harvesting signature quest completed for Shingle! Here's hoping! On saturday night the server is having a server party in Butcherblock and I'm really hoping to attend - these things are mad but sooooo much fun!

Anyway ... until my  next post....

24 May 2009 @ 12:43 am

No its not quite September ... in fact its not even close. Its the middle of May which means I've only been away from the game for about 4 weeks. Although I've been busy this year there have been a few changes and not to put a finer point on it my lovely fiancee's father like always got it all wrong. Normally I and all the ladies in the car clubs usually do the organising ... this year it seems we are not needed for more than simply going along and having a sandwich and a chat. I've been to 5 car events in the last few weeks which is fairly normal but this time I've been home early and am then sat wondering what to do with my evenings. So after having a chat with the other lovely ladies it seems my lovely father in law who volunteers us for such a lot of things... grrr ... has this year got it completely wrong and the men are to organise the meets and we can turn up for lunch or just the run or just donate to charity and then go home again. That made my mind up...back to EQ2 and god damn I've missed it.

I've kept fairly up to date with all the news... but was surprised when I first logged in to see there is new hate grafix which is very WIN!! After chatting to the guildies and sorting out my sales and my rent on my abode and flitting through my alts to catalog what they need now. I jumped back to Ize and took her to KP to do a few easy quests to get back in touch with the controls. After doing a couple of quests - the lovely Suzita logged in and organised setting up a grouping - we went to the Crucible and chatted on voice chat which seemed to make the grouping so much easier ... although I must admit I was shy at first ... by half way through I felt fine and think its a great idea for zones such as them. Dimzad tanked and me and Kalyyn healed whilst Suzita and two new guildies DPS'd. It was a pretty good group ... and we really only wiped a few short times. The last mob was harder I think because of the level difference ... at 76 I was the lowest of the group. Either way we managed it after a few times and we did ourselves proud!!! Then we moved onto Hall of Fate ... I really like that zone and it brought back memories of playing Laz... it was great AA experience as Ize had never been there before too! We had a fab night - thanks guys! A master dropped for my warden too from the crucible - level 80 so I was delighted. I was even more delighted when I recalled to the guild hall and checked my mail! - Dimzad had sent me nine tynnonium cluster - OMG!! I am so delighted because I can now make Shingle all his spells!! Those clusters are very very rare and cost insane amounts of money and with Shingle being a necro its essential to have the highest spells! YAY!!

Anyway its now 1am in the morning - so really is time for bed but tomorow I got so much to do ... and with double XP weekend too it leaves me a lot of scope.

Enough for now! x

The adventures of Izebella and friends in Norrath
18 April 2009 @ 11:11 am

Summer is arriving and for me in real life it begins next week! I'm leaving Everquest until the Autumn when like every year I return again to have another fab 6 months of questing and tradeskilling! Next year hopefully hitting the big 80! I will miss it and the kind members of the guild - my friends - but real life must come first and like always when I leave the game for the summer I felt an enormous pang of sadness at saying goodbye for the last time until September. Sadly my high hope at getting Ize and Shingle to 80 didn't happen this year but I have made enormous progress at least 20 levels since I returned to EQ2 in September last year. However this year it and the guildies did get me through the most horrid of times when I first became very ill last October. Since I recovered in the last couple of months my game time has been restricted again - work and real life taking over. It gets more restricted from here on in when the car events kick off next weekend for much of the summer and being volunteered to help out nearly if not every weekend.

So Ize is now resting in her house... Shingle is now resting in the guild hall and in real life, I bid you all a farewell and a hope of a fantastic summer for us all yet to come.

Until my next post....

10 April 2009 @ 12:53 pm
Just a quickie post. I logged into EQ2 this morning to check on my sales. I haven't been online since last sunday because 1 - real life has kinda got in the way as usual. 2  - I was desperately hoping for a large sum of money to be in my broker when I next logged on to fit up shingle with much needed adept three spells, as I really can't take him out until they are all back up to adept three or there will be a LOT of deaths!! I logged on to find seven Plat in my box YAY!! I went and bought three Tynnonium clusters so I could make the spells ( I tried to harvest them and for an eight hour stint one day a few weeks ago I got every rare BUT the clusters I needed and so being totally selfish I've decided buying is the way to go!!) So made the spells - Darkness Heart - a power shard for a friend and also the raid version. On top of that I made an adept three for my new pet - Shadowblade (scout pet)  so I'm half way there before I can take Shingle out again. I paid Izebella's rent and changed all the sales in my crates and hopefully that will sell quickly and I can buy my next three clusters to complete all the spells needed!! Yay!!

All for now folks!!

Woke up very early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep...not sure why especially wierd since I like my saturday lie in's!! Anyway I came down stairs and logged on whilst I made myself a cuppa. Checked my sales and noticed more of Ize's ex house items had gone! yay!! More money for new ones! Then I logged straight to Shingle and carried on crafting for a couple of hours until I reached 75 sage! yay!! I then decided to restock my provisions crate in my shared bank so I logged into Gwenllyan and spent a couple more hours on her and managed to level her to 65 Provisioner. I don't think I've introduced Gwenllyan yet. I don't play her that much I use her just purely for food and drink and also her bank as spare slots for non essential items... very handy seen as I seem to be a big hoarder or junk hehe! Anyway I started her late on and never managed to catch up with Shingle and Ize so she is 10 levels behind them but tbh that doesn't concern me seen as she still makes the level 70 food now anyway. I know eventually when Shingle and Ize hit 80 she'll start to catch up. I think I will adventure her at some point but really I have all the DPS I need with Shingle and my newbie toon, Magrazella. Anyway so that took me up until about lunchtime and so I switched to Ize all excited at playing her again and we went on a journey together to continue the quest given by the Queen. I managed to carry on the Questline for about couple of quests but then I had to kill mobs two levels above me - this would have been fine seen as Ize is rather Uber but they we're linked so after a few attempts I quit and headed back to Fens to carry on the quests there. After that time just went, Ize managed to clear a lot of quests and pick up some new ones so I'm really pleased with her progress. I logged off for a well earned break at about 6PM and made some dinner in preperation for our grouping this evening.

The grouping went really well we went to The Deep Forge and I picked up a shard YAY! only 36 to go lol! There we're about 4 wipes sadly but hey I'm still learning! I really struggled with the power side of it as Ize's power seemed to constantly drain in the last boss fight - will need to work on that one!

When the group was done I headed back to Fens as I realised I was nearly 90 % up XP so I did a few quests and leveled before I logged for the night!

All in all an impressive day - tomorow's task in between organising the sunday lunch... level Ize to 76 Carpenter and then back to Shingle - although I really have to update his spells and that depends on my money hmmmm may have to rethink that one!

Logged in today to find that the raid planned for tonight had been cancelled due to not enough interest - such a shame was hopeful of finishing my quests in the forsaken city ... especially since they are still green :(

Instead I finally leveled Shingle up to 75 ... yippeee! Then feeling rather somber for no raid I did a little bit of crafting on Shingle and leveled him to 74 Sage. Not quite sure how but I seemed to let a level slide. I kept going and got to about 30 % into level 74 and stopped, i'll continue that tomorow I think.

Seems that the guild has now joined an alliance ... I hope it doesn't go the way the guilds I've been in before have gone. The Knights Who Say Ni we're the worst as they disbanded the guild and created Holy Grail after a few months all out points we're lost and all the hard work and effort was gone. Also inless you regularly raided noone talked. I like the idea of having more groups and can only hope it goes the right way for us all.

Anyways I now have a full weekend to play ... yay!! As I've said ... I'm going to continue crafting with Shingle and get him to 75 sage and then I'm back to Izebella and hopefully I can begin the TSO timeline ... I picked it up yesterday in passing and it looks rather interesting. Izebella was summoned to see the Queen in the North Qeynos castle ... I really liked that idea and always had high hopes that we'd be able to go in there one day!

02 April 2009 @ 06:36 pm
I'm sorry for my long absence from blogging and in fact the game. Over the last few weeks real life has interfered and I have only these last few days been able to get back to playing again. This was mainly because I had an email from SOE telling me that the latest live update had just gone live and the Bristlebane Quests (Norrath's april fools day) was running for a limited time only!! I certainly managed to make time then. I hope also to be able to spend this weekend playing too. At last a free weekend to take my alts out for a run... There are also two raids I've signed up for and ever so excited about. We're hopefully all being well hitting The Forsaken City tomorow night, this is in fact the adventure pack which I ran with Shingle so really hoping I can get that pack cleared as luckily most of the quests are still green! I actually never got round to running it with Ize as yet, another thing on the long list. On saturday night we are running the Deep Forge and Scion of Ice instances again ... good for the shard build up and I'm taking Ize out for that as she is over level 75 and Shingle isn't. Still very much a struggle with that one. I really must work on him this weekend. I've begun taking him to Kunzar Jungle but that really is pushing it at times. I seem to die constantly but the same goes still in Fens. I look forward to updating his spells and seeing if it makes much of an impact. I hope so.

Last night I managed to run Ize through the April Fools quests ... took ages but was well worth doing. I also completed the limited time only harvesting quest for the joke box item. I'm logged in now on Ize and just waiting to complete a scavenger quest... I have to wait two hours for it to update. Seems like an eternity. I'm gonna run shingles hopefully tomorow and saturday and hopefully it will level him up to 75. I'm confident that when he reaches 75 I will be able to take him out more regularly with the guildies on shard instances. Will take the weight off!!!

Well like I said in my previous post I was thinking of making another alt! I did! I'm absolutely thrilled with her. Her name is Magrazella and she is a Assassin and her allignment is somewhere completely new ... Gorrowyn. The evil city which came into the game two expansion packs ago and I never paid too much attention to as a low level. I'm really surprised how much I like Magrazella to play, with just apprentice skills her DPS is pretty amazing. I think i might stick with her for a while - whilst my money starts to roll in again for Shingle to catch up on his crafting, I seemed to have used nearly all of the 10 PP I made this week on crafting for Ize this morning - pain in the butt there!!

Anyway here is a picture of her - of course as an asassin I can't possibly give you her complete look ... or she really wouldn't be a assassin now would she?! :P

Magrazella - Assassin

I walked across, an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth, beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when, you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin.
I came across, a fallen elm tree,
I felt the branches; are they looking at me?
Is this the place, we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when, you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin
And if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go, somewhere only we know
Somewhere only we know.
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin
And if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything.
So why don't we go, so why don't we go.
Hmmm yeahh.
This could be the end of everything
So why don't we go, somewhere only we know,
Somewhere only we know
Somewhere only we know.

I've taken a few days off Everquest 2 whilst I dealt with some stuff from the real world which needed more urgent attention.

I logged in this evening to find a nice sum of coin to do a little crafting with. As ize didn't get the opportunity to do that little bit of crafting in her work shop as she'd have liked on the last occasion I logged on she was quite happy to sit in her workshop and make some furniture. Happily Ize managed to restock her furniture crate full of lovely goodies and reached level 75 carpenter too.

I'm also itching to begin a new character *eyes roll* (yes again) haven't got round to it yet but may do over the coming weekend. I'm thinking of this one being on my second account - not sure what profession but tradewise alchemist - this would help for Rattias with his spells, hmm will have to have a proper think. If not I shall plod on with Shingleshanks, I believe he needs to do a little crafting to catch up on his spells he makes and maybe I will take him out adventuring in the Kunzar Jungle too.

01 March 2009 @ 10:06 pm

After a long day in the depths of Fens of Nathsar I finally hit 75!

Now I can move on to doing the shards ... and finally find out what on earth everyone in my guild ... Light of the Wolf ... is raving about.

I'm told that until I am level 80 I can only get one shard per instance but hey one shard is one shard and by going in those instances I'm gonna level to 80 quicker and be mightier than before. In fact its quite scary the closer I get to level 80 the more likely I'm to see Tolmar ... now that is scary!!

Didn't get time to make any furniture today as I'd planned. A long day in the battlefield and I really could have done with making myself a cup of hot chocolate and working alone in my workshop for a few hours but I didn't get back to the guilds hall till dark and after taking off my clobber - checking my sales - getting rid of some of the junk I had on me and getting myself a well earned drink at the bar I think all I have the energy for is to put my feet up, write you this little note and think about bedtime ... of course I must remember to feed all my pets too.

Perhaps I'll rest tomorrow and stay closer to home. Maybe spend the day crafting in my workshop downstairs.

Goodnight for now.

Have just enjoyed another enjoyable evening raiding - my second proper raid ever! I'm quite proud of myself really. I suffered only the one problem with the warlock - he was pulling so much hate he constantly went into the red. (Something I will have to work on when healing. I took Ize out by the way)

Lord Vyemm was rather a toughy - especially for a newbie like me a 74▲▲▲ Tier 8 Epic x4. The zone itself took us 2 hours to get to and I'd say about an hour to work out a tactic to take him down. I've heard so many people telling me what a difficult zone it was its its hey day that in fact I was a little surprised about how easy it was. Although with a raid group of three and all but two of us (Saraya and I) at level 80 I suppose it really shouldn't be so hard.

Rattias - 10 Shadowknight
Rattias grew up in the city of Neriak with his family of 500. His mother and father and all their older offspring left Edgeware drains under the city of Freeport before he was born to live in a more civilised society. They we're progressive rats and unlike generations before them they refused to continue to live in such poverty. Rattias' father became an established Guardian but was slain in a antonican battle some years before. Rattias has now begun his training as a Shadowknight alongside his brothers.

In his sparetime and due to the lack of money he is learning to become an armorer.

Lazarita The'Paramedic 73 Mystic

Lazarita was washed up in the Isle of Refuge on the 4 October 2005. A stranger to the lands that for some reason felt like home. She moved to the little village of Castleview Hamlet and came to be a close companion of the Temple of Life. As more and more stories were told of the battles between good and evil abroad and at home, Lazarita trained at the Temple of Life warding and healing the warriors and Knights who faced battle. Enlisting with Ironforge Exchange she became a mighty Woodworker but soon enough equipment was needed so Lazarita turned her skills to tailoring. Lazarita went out into the world for many days and many nights and rarely returned for weeks on end but lost strength to continue as she grew older. She went into retirement for 2 years but has recently returned to the Temple of Life to develop her skills again as she is told by her family that the worst is yet to come...

       Izebella Stormclaw 74 Warden

Born and brought up in Nettleville Hovel. She married a human called Tolmar and for a long time they we're very happy. When they married they moved to a house in Lucie Street in South Qeynos. Izebella made a living as a carpenter whilst Tolmar who had trained as a Wizard was out in battle most days. It is said that Tolmar met and became tempted by the dark side. Full of greed and hatred for what he had been fighting so long for, he asconded to the city of Freeport. Izebella, felt as if her husband had died and always had hope that he would rid his demons and return back to Qeynos to serve the city she loved. Seeking solace she turned to her family at the temple of life to help her come to terms with her tragic loss. Guided spiritually and by her belief in Tunare Izebella overcame the pain and gave up her hope that Tolmar someday would return to Qeynos. With the powers of Nature to guide her she learned to help other wives, who had similarly lost their husbands, in their time of need and took on the role of supporter, guardian and friend to all who needed her.

Now fully trained and ready to begin her enlistment in the war that stands before her and so many others, she has one fear, that she will come face to face with her husband and be expected to strike down the only man she really ever loved.

When she isn't out on the battlefield - Izebella is currently a 74 Carpenter and divides her spare time crafting in the guild hall in South Qeynos with her close companions and her home, 2 Bayle's Court, South Qeynos. She is currently working on a renovation for her home. Pictures to follow shortly.
